My cousin donated her right kidney as well and it was placed on the left for the same reason as yours. Apparently the surgery to put it in is a little easier on the right and since the operation for the pancreas is more delicate, they prefer to do it on that side.<br /><br />You will have such fun watching your numbers drop after surgery. Also, don't worry too much about the stent removal. It's not the worst thing in the world and is over quickly. Don't be afraid of blood in the foley bag at first either. There may be a bit of bleeding from the connection to the bladder and it is normal.<br /><br />Best of luck. You will feel great soon and realize suddenly how poorly you are actually feeling now.
